I am blessed to be able to worship with this church each week, and even more blessed to lead our modern praise music! It is a joy, to me, to be a part of body of Christ, and to fulfill my small function in the greater purpose that we have, as believers.
I also lift up my joy in the fellowship I have been experiencing over the past few weeks, in the Men’s Bible Study, and in our new Men’s Breakfast, which we started last month, and now intend to hold on the first Saturday of each month. It’s wonderful to be able to gather with brothers in Christ, to share our experiences with one another, to laugh and eat and relax, and grow closer to Christ, and closer to one another.
I thank this church for the joy it brings to my life. It is a joy to serve in the body of Christ!

On Tuesday, June 8th, I had the honor along with Garrett to deliver the Baby Grace donations to the Baby Grace Ministry at Buckner United Methodist Church. Along the way Garrett shared with me his experience over the weekend at the Annual Conference. He had several God moments and a lot to share. I am grateful to CCYM and the church for giving Garrett this opportunity.
One of the co-founders of Baby Grace, Anne Farmer, meet us at Buckner. When we opened the back of the van and she saw all of the items, she was truly overwhelmed. Garrett and I saw the room where the Baby Grace Ministry is located. It is about the size of our undercroft. This is where they store the items and also have their open houses. The room is full of racks of clothing and other baby items.
Their next open house is June 19th. Beginning in August, they will have an open house the second Saturday of every month. Ann was very grateful for the help to this wonderful ministry. She told us thank you numerous times. I am grateful for the support of GUMC to this ministry. We may never know the lives we have touched, but God knows. Isn’t that what being a Christian is all about.

I enjoy watching the TV show “Survivor”. but last Sunday morning as the worship team and I prepared for worship, I discovered what it felt like to be “voted off the island!”
I was not well, my voice was not something that the congregation wanted to hear…and the worship team sent me home with a unanimous vote.
My joy is that we have some very good people on worship team. Lee Messenger was worship host on Sunday, Linda Lanning delivered the sermon for me (for the 2nd time in our 18+ years of ministry together), Greg Rackers made all the appropriate adjustments for the media, Ron Dutro took care of the Children’s message…and I am sure that many others filled in in varoius ways. THANK YOU.

My joy is that I had my yearly MRI done in March, and it came back okay. Sort of. The three tumors that were treated with the gamma knife 2-3 years ago are begining to really show signs of shrinkage and beinging to look like they are doing what the treatment was designed to have them do – die. (As some of you may remeber, Imy tumors are a benign tumor but. since they are located in my head, they are still a little worrisome to me. Also, I did name them the Willards. They do have first names fpr those times that I want to get personal with them).
The fourth (or maybe I should say the fifth) tumor is not doing much. It wasn’t big enough at the time of the gamma knife treatment to be positively identified. It could have been a new tumor, it could have been scar timmue, or it could have been a dust particle.
I thank my church family for their prayers over the years lifting me up to the Lord, to keep me safe and to not let these tumors become more than I could bear, although I know that all things are bearable with the help of the Lord.
Also I would like to thank my Christian church family for their prayers and sympathy during my Aunt Rosalie’s illness and death. Her family is also very grateful for your prayers and sympathy.
I know it’s been a while since I’ve seen a lot of you, but don’t give up on myappearance at Church when you least expect it. With working evenings -6 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. – my sleep patterns a little warped.
I do lift GUMC and if Christian family up in prayer and I am with yu in spirit, if not in the flesh.
God bless and keep you all.
