Journey of Hope
Journey Of Hope is a new global ministry launched to encourage the Lost Boys of South Sudan and to offer aid to the Village of Wernyol; a village where many Lost Boys lived when the village was attacked and the children fled into their life changing trek across the Sudan in the 80’s.
The overriding mission is to bring awareness of the tragedy that occurred in South Sudan and to offer aid and encouragement to the people.
Currently, this global ministry is collecting school supplies that will provide the children in Wernyol the supplies needed to attend school. Items collected include basic school tools (pencils, paper, scissors, pencil sharpers, rulers, etc) along with recess equipment such as basketball balls and soccer balls. It is the long term goal to facilitate the building of a school.
“Atem’s Pencil Box” is a program initiated by an elementary school age child, whose father is one of the Lost Boys. The program’s goal is to collect and ship 10,000 pencils to the students in Wernyol, South Sudan.
A video is available to people interested in learning more about the plight of the Lost Boys of the Sudan. We would be happy to schedule a presentation to any group wishing to learn more about this ministry.
